Leonid Afremov is a Belarus born, Israeli modern painter who creates unique landscapes, cityscapes and figures using a palette knife rather than a brush to paint. It is a great example of strong chroma/ intensity because the colors are from all different hues creating the piece to be esthetically dynamic. I especially like the difference between the couple walking to the background city lights.
This painting is unknown, but I love the flow and feel to the painting. It is a great example of weak or minimum intensity, but it is still such an interesting piece of art. The difference in colors is subtle making the feel to it somewhat gloomy and depressing. In addition the minimum contrasts results in the Chinese artwork to be emotionally passive.
