Blue Whole Art Gallery Critique
I chose to go to the Blue Whole Art Gallery located in downtown Sequim. As soon as I entered the art gallery, I noticed that there were endless forms of artwork, such as sculptures, fused glass, and of course paintings. Blue Whole includes art from over 33 different local artists, that all work together in keeping the gallery together. Although there was not a specific theme to the museum, it was very well organized by keeping the artists work in the same area, and having the artwork displayed neatly. I really enjoyed walking around the museum, because it had a very enjoyable tone to it. I loved looking at the fused glass sculptures and plates, because I do similar glass fusing with my work. I took a few pictures of the artwork I liked the best, and below they are displayed. The artwork that I chose to sketch is by the artist Gerald Addison Pierce. It is called "Gates of Santorini" and I love the simplicity and warmth to it. The shadows create a realistic feel, and I like the gates opening up to paradise... enjoy!
